Welcome to Pine Needle Farm Cashmeres! My name is Ann and I raise the wonderful, quirky goats that provide that extremely soft, high frequency fleece known as Cashmere. These goats are hardy, healthy, and fun to interact with. We live on the side of a mountain in NW Montana, an environment perfect for raising these wonderful animals.
Every year in the late winter I comb the cashmere off each goat by hand while they are munching away on a treat in the feed bucket at the front of the combing stand they are on. I then take the fleece, wash it, dehair it, spin it into mostly fingering weight yarn, then either crochet or weave it into a wearable accessory for someone (maybe you!) to wear and enjoy. Warm and soft, yet very lightweight, each item is handmade with love and care.
I also weave kitchen towels out of cotton and sometimes cottolin, that will be a great addition to any kitchen decor. Absorbent and pretty, you'll love using them every day.
I'll be setting up a new shop pretty soon. The platform I was on is closing, so now I make a new shop somewhere.
